COSEIA Executive Director
Rebecca Cantwell brings years of project management, communications and policy leadership experience to her work on solar energy.
As Executive Director of the Colorado Solar Energy Industries Association, Rebecca oversees all aspects of the award-winning non-profit that leads Colorado’s solar industry with more than 200 members. COSEIA works on advancing solar policy and moving the industry forward through education, outreach and communications on a variety of programs.
Rebecca led the team that created Solar Friendly Communities, a nationally recognized program to reduce solar soft costs by partnering with local governments to streamline permitting.
Rebecca previously worked as a Community Energy Coordinator , and managed numerous renewable energy and energy efficiency programs. She earlier launched and edited numerous magazines and still manages Smart Energy Living, an online magazine at smartenergyliving.org
A Colorado native, Rebecca came to her work on clean energy after a nationally award-winning career as a newspaper reporter and editor. She worked as a reporter and editor at the Rocky Mountain News, was political editor at The Denver Post, and earlier was a reporter at the Colorado Springs Gazette and the Longmont Times-Call.
